Fig and Walnut Rock Cookies

Pastry:

  • 2.5 cups of flour
  • 1 sachet of Baking Powder
  • 175 g soft margarine or butter
  • 1 egg
  • 1 sachet of Vanillin
  • 1 tea glass of granulated sugar
  • 1.5 tea glasses of coarsely chopped walnuts
  • 0.5 cups of Aphrodisias dried figs, chopped into cubes

Preparation:

1. Preliminary Prep:

  • Grease the baking tray or line it with baking paper.
  • Set the oven to the specified temperature and turn it on beforehand to warm up.

Bottom-top cooking: 170 °C / 380 F
Turbo cooking: 160 °C / 340 F

2. Dough preparation, Giving Shape and Cooking

  • Mix flour and baking powder and sift.
  • Place margarine or butter, egg, vanilla sugar and granulated sugar in a deep bowl and mix with a spoon.
  • Add the flour and continue mixing.
  • Add walnuts and dried figs and mix again.
  • Using the cookie cutters give shape tablespoons, place them on the baking tray and bake.


3. Cooking time: Approximately 15 - 20 minutes

Take the cookies out of the oven from the tray and let them cool.
